I specialise in newborn photography and have been trained by one of the UK’s leading and most prestigious newborn photographers. Newborn safety is of paramount importance to me and I am fully trained and insured to carry out my newborn sessions confidently and safely.
I offer two types of newborn shoot, depending on the time and investment you wish to make, and the style of images you hope to come away with.
FULL NEWBORN SESSIONS: Ideally, these are carried out during the first two weeks of baby’s life for the best chance of those curled up, sleepy poses. Sessions are calm, relaxed, and baby-lead. I always allow up to 4 hours so that there is plenty of time to feed and settle baby into a nice deep sleep in order to achieve a mixture of natural and posed shots. There is also plenty of time for parent and sibling shots. I have everything you need in my studio for your newborn shoot, including carfeully selected props, outfits, fabrics and wraps. Full newborn sessions are perfect if you love the sleepy, styled images and want to receive a wide variety of images and set-ups.
HELLO WORLD SESSIONS: These are shorter, 90 minute sessions where the focus is not on getting baby in to a deep sleep for posed images, but capturing baby naturally, whether they are awake or asleep. Simple parent and sibling photos can also be carried out in these sessions. These sessions are perfect if for whatever reason you have missed out on the very early newborn photos, or if you prefer a shorter, more natural shoot. Hello World shoots are ideal for babies newborn to 6 months.
Whichever shoot you choose, my aim is to create beautiful, timeless images of your newborn baby within a professional and comfortable studio setting. I favour simplistic, classic portraiture that focuses on the beauty of your baby. I am very selective with my props, and have invested a lot of time in selecting beautiful, classic props and accessories.
Newborn sessions should be booked in advance, at around 20 weeks, for the best chance of availability. I will make a provisional booking based on your expected due date, which can be flexible around your baby’s arrival.
